Ways to Play

  • Arcade Mode – The perfect ‘Game Night’ companion. After game completion, reshuffle all cards back into their decks to replay with friends over and over again.
  • Campaign Mode – Heroes keep their equipment and attempt to defeat even tougher and more formidable foes, with the character progression feel of a role-playing game.
  • Hard Mode – Upon completion, increase boss difficulty by increasing every boss’s armor (1 armor absorbs 1 damage; heroes do a minimum of 1 damage) by a set amount. Increase that amount after each completion while trying to achieve the highest difficulty you can.

Game Setup

  • Give four players the Hero deck of their choice. Players then shuffle and place their Hero deck to one side and the Hero character card to the other side of their playing field.
  • Choose a ‘Dungeon Master’ and give them the Dungeon Deck (or give it to a fifth player).
  • Place the Dungeon deck in the center of the table or somewhere where all the players can easily see it.
  • Place the Tokens next to the Dungeon deck.
  • Place the Final Loot deck and Boss Loot deck next to the Tokens.

Turns - Boss Goes First

  • Each player draws seven cards from their Hero Deck, no mulligans.
  • The ‘Dungeon Master’ draws and reveals the first boss, reads its text, then plays it face-up next to the Dungeon Deck.
  • Next, they draw and play the boss’s ‘Turn 1’ encounter ability card, read and resolve its text, then play it face-up next to the boss card.
  • ‘Boss Attacks’ by shifting (turning) the Boss card left or right, then dealing the boss’s base damage, plus any other effects, to a player chosen at random (unless taunted).
  • Enemy tokens attack also at random (unless taunted).

Players Take Their Turns

  • Going clockwise, players take their turns in the following sequence:
  • Unshift cards in play.
  • Draw a card, or play a face-down card off the top of your deck as an ability source card of your choice.
  • Play one ability source card from your hand (strength, agility, wisdom).
  • Play one or multiple action or reaction cards from your hand by spending the appropriate ability cost.
  •           Action cards can only be played on your turn.
  •           Reaction cards can be played at any time.
  • Next, the Hero attacks by shifting (turning) the card left or right to attack, or cast, to deal their base damage to, or heal, a target of their choosing.
  • Lastly, the player resolves any other effects and ends their turn.
  • The ‘Dungeon Master’ then draws, plays, and resolves the boss ‘Turn 2’ encounter ability card.
  • Repeat this process.

The End

  • BOSS IS DEFEATED - Players resolve each boss encounter ability in sequence until the boss is defeated by reducing its health to zero.
  • When the boss is defeated, the ‘Dungeon Master’ reveals three cards from the Boss Loot deck.
  • Players then decide how to distribute the loot. Equipment is permanently attached to the Hero.
  • Next, players reshuffle their decks and draw seven cards. The ‘Dungeon Master’ then draws, reveals, and plays the next boss card.

  • BOSS IS NOT DEFEATED – The group wipes upon all Heroes losing all their health (dead).
  • Players decide if they should reshuffle Hero decks and try again with a different strategy on the same boss, or reshuffle all decks and start the dungeon fresh to ‘farm’ more loot and progress each Hero further.

  • FINAL BOSS IS DEFEATED – The ‘Dungeon Master’ reveals three cards from the Final Boss Loot deck and players decide on loot distribution.
  • Players then high five or celebrate in some other way.
